Consider retesting your home if the last test was more than two years
ago.
You should test for radon within the lowest level of your home that
is suitable for occupancy without substantial renovation.
Also, a retest is recommended if a buyer plans to live in a lower
level than was previously tested (e.g., such as a basement suitable
for occupancy but not currently lived in).
EPA suggests that radon mitigation costs between $500 and $2500
for a single family home. For a larger building, the costs will
depend on the size and other characteristics of the building. The
Radon Fix It Line (1-800-644-6999) can provide general information
on methods for reducing radon. |
