HOW'S
THE WEATHER? Find Your Outdoors Comfort Paradise in the U.S. is
a 272-page travel-planning guide written for the retiree, vacationer,
tourist and business traveler.
How's The Weather? contains numerous contour (isoline) charts and
tables to express the outdoors leisure thermal comfort for more
than 300 cities within the 50 states.
Thermal comfort, referred to throughout the book as "Predicted Mean
Vote" (PMV), is computed from up to 50 years of historical dew point
and ambient temperature climate data as recorded by the Federal
Climate Complex, Asheville, North Carolina.
Based
on years of scientific research.
The PMV comfort scale, which simultaneously reflects both dew point
(e.g., relative humidity) and ambient temperature, is based on the
work of Dr. P.O. Fanger.
This
simple-to-understand comfort scale is displayed below:
"-3" = cold, "-2" = cool, "-1" = slightly cool,
"0" = neutral (ideal),
"+1" = slightly warm, "+2" = warm, "+3" = hot
